Crash Recovery

What is supposed to happen in Crash Recovery?

This part has circular holes. Bridging the top, one of the points bent up and caused a crash.

I got a notification, and the extruder moved up and away.

It set for a minute, then moved back and resumed the print with no action on my part. The print completed successfully, with no apparent flaws.

I was not surprised by the crash. I was very surprised by the recovery. What is going on here?

RE: Crash Recovery

Hmm ... you got lucky the stall wasn't for more steps or you'd have seen a shift in the build.

Did you press the button after the crash warning?  Or did the printer return to printing without ANY intervention? If it restarted without you pressing any thing, sounds like a bug in the firmware (wouldn't be the first in the print fail recovery firmware).

RE: Crash Recovery

All I was doing was looking at the print to see if I could see the crash point.

Honest Officer - I din't touch nuttin...

I figured maybe it was letting the flaw area cool and harden a bit. Firmware bug sounds more likely.

This was an Octoprint driven print. Maybe the next command down broke it loose.
