Can't print Benchy with first roll of Prusament

I recently switched from the included silver roll of filament to my first roll of Prusament, but I've been unable to print Benchy's first layer. The filament keeps sticking to the nozzle on the way out and then being dragged all over the rest of the first layer.

I've had no similar problems printing with the included silver roll. My bed level variance was ~0.06 when tested. I clean the bed with isopropyl alcohol 91% on a paper towel before each attempt. I tried scrubbing the nozzle a little in place to get any gunk off. I was able to print the Prusa logo successfully using the Prusament, just not Benchy (the gcode included with the MK3S).

Any idea what's causing this?

Try washing your build plate with dish soap and hot water, and then dry it on the printer at 100C. It sounds like the build surface may have gotten dirty.

I have tried two cold pulls, the second came out pretty clean. Tried printing Benchy again, and got the same result. When it starts doing the outlines for the text on the bottom of the boat, the filament just starts getting stuck to the nozzle.

I tried to switch back to the silver filament and print Benchy, and that failed as well. I also just tried to print a different file that has worked multiple times in the past before loading my new Prusament, and it failed as well. So it seems for the time being I can't print anything.

@mdaneman

Thanks for the suggestion, this seems to have helped! (I guess the isopropyl alcohol wasn't enough!) I was able to get past the first layer and print a Benchy.

I still have to babysit it a bit at the beginning because filament is sticking to the outside of the nozzle when it starts out, and can get dragged over the first layer. Hopefully I can find something to fix that!
