Can room temperature trigger bed temp failures?

Here in the UK we're having a mini heatwave and the temperature in my print room is routinely hitting 40C+, right now it's 44.2C in here.  A couple of days ago my Mk3S+ reported a "MINTEMP BED fixed" error, so I sighed and ordered a few from the shop.  Today, for the first time in these temps, I tried to print on my old trusty Mk2S and it immediately gave a bed temperature error, then a "BED PREHEAT ERROR".  I know coincidences happen, but this seems like a stretch that two machines of entirely different age and hours would report bed heat errors, the Mk2 doing so on first attempt (the Mk3 prints virtually every day, and was doing so as the temperatures increased over the last week or so).

I'm prepared to fit the new thermistors and/or see if I can track down dodgy connections/wires, but has anyone else seen this sort of problem linked to excessive room temperature?

What temperatures were the thermisters reporting?

Heat can also loosen connections so check all the plugs.
