Calibrate...Heating...Calibrate Sequence (How to eliminate double calibration?)

When I print, my i3 first does a 49 point calibration, then it heats, then it calibrates again, and then prints. The first calibration seems superfluous. How can I eliminate it?

I am printing via Octoprint, so it is possible that it is something to do with that, but perhaps not? I have no particular reason to suspect Octoprint. The Octoprint plugins I have are:
   Action Command Prompt
   BetterHeaterTimeout
   Cancel Objects
   Cost Plugin
   Dashboard
   DisplayLayerProgress Plugin
   M73 Progress
   MMU2 Select Filament
   OctoPod Notifications
   OctoPrint-IFTTT
   Octolapse
   Preheat Button
   PrintTimeGenius Plugin
   Python 3 Check
   Simple Emergency Stop
   Tab Order
   Terminal Commands
   Themeify

Suggestions for how to stop the first, superfluous calibration?

Try printing the same gcode directly off the SD card. If the calibration only happens once, you've likely got something defined in your GCODE scripts Octoprint configuration in the Before print job starts section. It's possible a plugin has added something, though I don't see anything listed that I would associate with startup. Try running Octoprint in safe mode to eliminate plugins.
