Angled cooling fan

Can anyone tell me why this changed from vertical to angled on the latest version?

I wanted to add something and the angle is in the way. I'm trying to find out what the problem would be in going back to the original vertical setup.

Re: Angled cooling fan

Hi Trevor,
the 45 degree angled fan is reputed to provide better cooling air flow than the 90 degree angled fan.

I use 90 degree on my mk3 with mmu and don't seem to have cooling difficulties, however I don't use the standard part cooling fan duct... and I am not sure which alternative it is

Re: Angled cooling fan

I printed some parts from clear filament with the original cooling fan. Wasn't happy with the results. Later I installed the Mosquito hot end which has a different cooling fan implementation. On a whim I reprinted the parts and they came out fine. I mentioned this to a friend of mine. He ordered the same filament and printed the same parts with the new Prusa fan parts with the same results. He than installed a Mosquito hot end and printed with good results. His results verified mine. Seems cooling is a more complicated process than one would think.
