Actual Dimensions MK3S

Hey folks

I'm looking to buy a Mk3S but when I'm not using it I'll be storing it on the shelves above my desk.

The Mk3S web page says the dimensions are 55×40×50 cm which wouldn't fit on my shelf (40 cm deep), but I noticed the Mk3 CAD/drawings I could find online show the main frame to be 37 cm wide.

Is the Mk3S frame the same size as the Mk3? 370 mm? If so it'll fit on my shelf and I'll be a happy chappy.

Thanks

The footprint of the MK3/S is smaller, but if you want to put the printer on a closed shelf, you must of course also pay attention to the attachments (x/z-motor/idler, PSU, LCD…).

Structurally the MK3s is pretty much the same as the MK3.  From memory the main differences are
Filament Sensor is different
Extruder modified( to accomodate the new sensor and new fan positioning etc)
PSU is different (but approx same physical size)
Y Belt attachment and tension method was changed

Basically nothing that would effect the footprint of the printer.

Mine measures just over 22 inches (~559 cm) from the front of the control panel to the very rear of the bed heater cable loop with the bed fully to the rear.

That's perfect thanks folks!

I don't have a height or length issue it was just the width of the printer and looks like it'll fit (the motor might stick out a little but that's ok)

Thanks so much 🙂
