What's next on the Mk3s+

Another + perhaps?

My MK3 is starting to get to that point where I'm needing a backup printer so I'm wanting a new MK3(insert the latest version here). Is there anything in the pipeline that I should wait for? I'm not able to wait the 12 months for the XL, but if there is a 3S++v2.mk1 I can wait a few weeks for that would be awesome to know about.

Any chance there is a thinner heatbreak to stop heat creep in there yet?

I would doubt there is anything weeks away.

I believe there may be the possibility of a MK4 in the pipeline, but probably not for a while.

The + was only released end of 2020, November IIRC

From the reviews it has been getting it seems to be the one to buy at the moment, and probably wont get changed for a while I suspect.

Tank you very much!

RE: What's next on the Mk3s+

If you need a backup printer over the next few weeks, buy an MK3S+. Period.

Joe Prusa mentioned in the 2020 review they’re planning to have 4 new products in 2021. I suspect a successor to the SL, plus the XL, no idea what the other two might be. I doubt anything is imminent, and any new product will probably have a lead time for new orders of a few months anyway.

I’m not aware of any inherent heat creep issues with the Mk3S(+). Mine have been printing happily for months, no problems. I’m planning to put a Phaetus Dragon hot end in when I’m back from my winter stay down south, so of course I expect to have all he’ll break loose when I do that...
