Using Prusa to make another Prusa printer

Hi. Sorry. I just join the forum and probably that subject was already covered.

I am planning to buy another printer. It meant to be one of the Enders. Size/Price. But. I read about the fire of the Prusa printer and the actions of the company after that. Then I started reading more about Prusa. It looks like the new printer will be Prusa.

To the point. I understand that I can buy an assembly kit and that is what most people advice to learn more about your printer. Once it will be all up and running and I will learn how to use it, I would like to make another Prusa. Like Prusa does that. However, I would like to buy all the original parts, so the printer will maintain the quality of the print.

Like an assembly kit, but without printed parts. Does Prusa sell kits like that? Or I will have to buy individual parts?

Just planning ahead. Thanks in advance for your help.
Luke

No, Prusa don't sell a kit like that.  You could try talking to them via the chat feature on the site, see if they can help.  Other than that you would have to buy the individual parts.  Prusa themselves don't sell the aluminium extruded frame parts separately, and spare parts are limited for the foreseeable future due to the Covid19 situation.

I suspect that it would cost just as much to buy the parts individually as to buy another kit so it isn't really worth it.  Plus of course with a full kit you will get better support in the sense that they can help more it all the parts are from them.

There are people over on the Reprap forum that are indeed building I3 clones, using all kinds of frames (plywood, plastic, extrusions) and the various items that are not printable (some call these 'vitamins') are available if you look around.

As you might suspect, there are varying degrees of success in constructing and using these various frankenprinters.
