Proper way to cancel a print job

What is the proper way to cancel a running print job on the MK3S?

You can cancel jobs via the front panel mid-print and it will do an orderly shut down. Pressing the reset button works in an emergency, but may leave the hot nozzle near the partial print and require a bit of cleanup.

There are PAUSE and STOP options.  Press the selector and scroll down.

PAUSE will raise the head and will give you the options to resume or stop.

I personally prefer the pause.

First pause, then think again if I really want to stop, then stop if necessary. The same is also possible in Octoprint, for example.

Thanks for the answer.  Don't know how I missed that looking through the menus.

You mentioned there's a bit of cleanup when using reset. If I reset (either on purpose or accident), how can I get the printer head to lift up so that I can clean up the printer bed? Is there a forum post on the process for that? I can't seem to find an answer online or in the forums and I've hastily hit reset before (though, I'm definitely going to use pause and stop knowing that it will raise the head now). I've also scoured the menus from what I can see/tell.

to lift the Print head, easily.
when the printer is at rest, press and hold the rotary knob, and the display will change to

Z:      ??.??    where ??.?? are the height of the Z axis....

then rotate the control knob to raise the Z axis....

Note, if you have just pressed the reset (X) button,     Z will show as 00.00 no matter what level the Z axis is actually at...

this is because the printer doesn't know where the Axis are, when you press reset.    You need to home all axis before the printer will know where the axis are, again...
