Print job fail in same spot

I have a 9 hour print job that keeps failing in the same spot after around 6 hours. The model doesn't show any defects in Prusa Slicer. Any suggestions on what to look for? It reports a crash then jumps over around 100mm to the right and starts printing again but in the wrong spot.

Note: The same object was printing correctly before a few recent modifications.

We are going to need pictures...

Also check the bottom of your part. See if there is any evidence of warping.

I have had crashes on y-axis for no reason, mostly with middle size models. The print did continue without layer shifting. One time I was looking at the printer when it happened - there was no reason for the crash.

I think it is one of the issues that is addressed in the upcoming firmware release.

Have a look at my models on Printables.com 😉

RE: Print job fail in same spot

One cause for crashes is a corner of the part loosing adhesion and lifting up a bit (warping). That causes the upper layer to crash when it hits that point. The higher the part gets, the more force is trying to lift that corner, so the crashes occur about the same level.

Maybe not your case - but it happens.
