For me as a new Prusa owner, what's with the PC steel sheet?
Why is it better than the smooth one?
Is it hte texture it gives the print or is it better in other ways?

It promotes a good textured surface and releases well after the print.

Got the email for the voucher yesterday! Ordered 12/13/17. Bummer that you can't add additional parts to the order, I could use another hot end thermistor. Still on the fence about the MK3S conversion. My printer has been working fine, I don't know that I want to touch it!

Did anyone else have problems paying by credit card? Their merchant kept kicking me out and saying I had cancelled the authorization. I switched it to paypal and it went right through. I tried clearing cache/cookies/browser to no avail.

Sheet arrived today!

Re: Powder Coated PEI Steel Sheet

I have a bit of news that might help others, so I figured I would post.

I am still waiting for my voucher from my MK3 order, placed on 30th Oct 2017.. I had a feeling that I had been overlooked, but couldn't prove it but I had a feeling that it was related to the fact that I didn't get my questionnaire in December and had to manually update them with my choice.

I have been "chatting" with Prusa every few weeks and was told to wait "a couple more weeks", but this week, after receiving some hard evidence that I had been overlooked, I tried again.. This time they told me to send a mail, which I did.

I got a reply and it was exactly as I thought. I had been overlooked but was still in the queue.. It turns out that all of the people (like me) who didn't get the questionnaire in Dec was put to one side and held off to the end. So we get demoted to the bottom of the queue just because of a technical issue..
So even though I ordered in Oct 17.. Because of a technical issue which prevented me from getting the questionnaire in December, I basically lost my place in the queue.

They are sorry but assure me that the last of the vouchers will go out this week, so I will get mine soon.

Not the answer I expected. But atleast its coming... It amazing me that Prusa do some things so well, and are totally inept in other areas.. Quite why the decided to keep a few people to the end, just because they didn't get the questionnaire is staggering to me....

I am just looking forwards to putting this whole thing behind me and moving on...

I use iso rarely and depend on the scrub with Dawn method
the best prep for your bed is to wash it with warm water and dawn dish soap (in the UK use Fairy liquid) by using a wad of clean kitchen paper towel dampen with warm water and put a dollop of Dawn on the pad and scrub (i do it twice at 90 deg to each other holding the plate by the edge as it is a phonograph record rinse under running water and dry with clean paper towel keep touching only by the edge... I do this every other day of printing with both kinds of plate.

This works well.

Re: Powder Coated PEI Steel Sheet

Mine arrived yesterday. I’ve done a shitload of live-z prints, a PLA raspberry pi case, and I’m now printing some R4 Einsy case parts before I pull the trigger on the MK3S upgrade.

Re: Powder Coated PEI Steel Sheet

After testing many beds, I need to find a life Z test print that is useful for something. Once they release the new beds for general sale, I will need to test more. Any ideas?

then set your live z with this method https://shop.prusa3d.com/forum/assembly-and-first-prints-troubleshooting-f62/life-adjust-z-my-way-t2981.html it is far better than the zig zag method in the firmware

If the ones you receive look like the photo that coating looks as good as the Prusa one. For $35 it may be worth a test

So much for that promise.. Its the "end of the week" now and still no voucher.

What I don't get about Prusa is their utter lack of understanding of customer service.. When i raised my case with them and finally got them to understand that I had been overlooked they referred it to "the manager who is dealing with this". I would have assumed he would have jumped through hoops to make things right... He could have just dug out my account and sent the voucher right there.. But they just put me off again saying that all vouchers would go out this week....

I guess I will have to see what next week brings...

I agree.. i have gone beyond worrying now after waiting 18 months.. But i am staggered at Prusas customer service in this instance.. they have admitted they “overlooked” me and then make a general commitment,, But then fail to do anything,,,,
