Part Assembly

I've been researching everything else, but how I print my first project and I'm at a lost for the best adhesive to use for the different filament.

Model, Elmer's or Super glue, what's the best? In this case I'm using PLA.

Re: Part Assembly

Have you calibrated the Z level of your printer so that it prints a nice first layer?
If not, follow the instructions for this in your printers manual.

Then you can print any model on the supplied SD card.
If you print with PLA, you do not need to use glue. A well-cleaned bed (isopropanol or a mild soap solution) is sufficient for PLA.

Re: Part Assembly

I believe they were referring to gluing together separate parts after they have been printed. 😉

For PLA I've tried different epoxies to varying success, but super glue seems to work well enough and is easier to use.

Sorry RH, I fat fingered the keys and got HOW instead of NOW in my post.

Thanks Eric.

Re: Part Assembly

CA (super) glue has worked great for me, though I'd recommend roughing up the mating surfaces with some sandpaper to give it a better bond (espeically if the side you're gluing was the build plate side and super smooth).
