Innofil3D InnoPET according to maker

I got an email from the maker of InnoPET and they did a test print on Prusa 3D i3 MK3 like this.

Bed: 75C
Nozzle: 220C
Rest of settings according to their spec:

No glue on the bed, just plain PEI-material.

From what I could see on the pictures I got it popped off when bed was cooled to room temp and so on without damageing the PEI at all.

Since I haven't got my printer yet I can't verify this yet but I thought it could be nice to share this if anyone else here is printing with InnoPET.
InnoPET seems to have lower glass transition temp of about 62C than "normal" PET/PETG.

Hello Lord-ulf-henrik-h,

I got the BASF Ultrament InnoPET as well and tried it a bit with my Prusa Mini.

I can verify the point with not damaging the PEI for a mockoff PEI-Sheet from Ali-Express

(I was cautious at the beginning and didn't want to ruin my Prusa-Sheet if sth. would go wrong 😬 )

So far it didn't and every print came of quite easy.

Prepping of the bed was just giving it a wipe with 70% alcohol.

But the problem I have with the material is that it strings like hell.

I'm printing it with the following settings after some testing with a temperature tower and a test to identify Settings against stringing:

  • 205°C nozzle temperature
  • 75°C bed temperature
  • 5mm Retraction
  • 0,1mm Z-Lift
  • 80mm/s RetractionSpeed

But still I have stringing. I'm not sure if I should go lower with the temperature as it still printed with 195°C.

Feel free to leave a comment 🙂

Best regards

Simon

LOL, I was curious so I entered 'Ultrament InnoPET' into the Amazon search box and got suggestions for pooper-scoopers and pet-cams.  😉

A general DDG search also comes up mostly empty.  Must not be widely available here in the States.

I use this filament and I think that the correct name is Ultrafuse InnoPET . I have an MK3s and I had no issue with print bed at 75 and nozzle at 215. It is recommended to print at 210 but I had better result at 215.

Ohh, sry 😳  yes, it should be Ultrafuse as nabil-m mentioned, thought I edited it out.

What is DDG?

I bought it from an offer from a german supplier, mainly for the reasons:

  1. it was an offer and therefore not to expensive 🙃 as I'm quite a beginner.
  2. The "BASF"-Brand name and the hope to get it even in 5 years+

@nabil-m hmm, strange

attached is a picture of a temperature-tower I produced today. I'm open to opinions.

Best regards

Simon

Thanks.

Matterhackers sells it here in the States, but it's way expensive.

It is expensive in EU too. £35 the spool of 750gr on Amazon...

It is a good filament but you can get better or same quality for less.

True, I got it for 14,95€ for 750g from igo3D. I think this was a good offer.

In case of the none discount price it is not so cheap.

After drying the filament for 4 hours @50 ° C the Stringing was reduced noticeable but not completely. Maybe I need to dry it longer or at higher temperatures? The data-sheet says at least 4 hours @ 60°C so this will be my next try.

P.S. Can you recommend any specific filament being good & not to expensive? If you want also via PN as to not derail this thread to off-topic.
