Heatbed MK42 wants to become a MK52 (12V)

Hallo to all,

I own an old MK42 which was part of a Prusa i3 MK2S. I like the magnetic heatbed with different steel sheets. So I decided to rework the MK42 to make it become an MK52 version with 12V.

I tried 1 position to find out if it is possible using a tool like Dremel to prepare the slots for the magnets. ==> This is possible and it is not so hard as I thought at the beginning. It was done freehand - next holes I will use a milling-template (sorry for the wrong wording?) to get it more precise.

Now I have a question:

I would like to use same positions as PRUSA is using. Or at least close to these positions. I found a dxf-File on https://github.com/prusa3d/Heatbed_MK52_magnetic
But when I open it I don't get a drawing only a textfile. Name of the file is: slots-for-magnets-05.dxf

What way do I have to go to see an dxf-drawing?

Best regards, Clemens

It can be that easy (when you know how to do)

Found a solution: Don't open the file directly from Github (then you just see a text file). Download the file to your computer and open it for example with a CAD program (for example LibreCAD) and you get what you want - a drawing.

Maybe helpful to others,

best regards, Clemens
