Firmware 3.4.1-FINAL for Original Prusa i3 MK3

New version is out: https://shop.prusa3d.com/forum/general-discussion-announcements-and-releases-f61/firmware-3-5-0-final-for-original-prusa-i3-mk3-t26071.html

Hi guys,
new firmware 3.4.1 is out! This is a final release recommended to all users 😉

What is new?
This release is focused on further improving the filament sensor reliability, lowering the number of false detections and fixing several critical bugs.
The changelog is the same as for 3.4.1-RC1:

Stealth mode fixed
This issue manifests itself as slow Z-axis movements. This was caused by a bug in storing custom values to EEPROM (M500 and M501 G-codes). These two G-codes were updated to avoid a similar issue in the future.

"The filament sensor response is poor, disable it?" temporarily disabled
This was a new feature introduced with filament sensor engine 2.0. Unfortunately, this feature seems to be too sensitive and unreliable so we disabled it for now and we are working on the improved version of it.

Bug fixes
- Filament runout detection bug #1154 fixed
- Stealth mode bug #1152 fixed
- Statistics during active print bug #1151 fixed
- OctoPrint "Printer reset detected" warning #1184 issue fixed

Supported printers:
Original Prusa i3 MK3
Original Prusa i3 MK3 Multi Material 2.0
Original Prusa i3 MK2.5

Re: Firmware 3.4.1-FINAL for Original Prusa i3 MK3

Hi, I have installed this new firmware on my Prusa I3 MK3. However, since I have done it, the printer does not start the printing session with the auto bed leveling process. How can I reactivate it ?

Thanks

Emmanuel

this does not sound good since they mentioned nothing about that and the step is important, i think a factory reset might be a good idea

Found the issue. It happens that I have upgraded from Ultimaker Cura 3.4 to 3.5 as well. Then, when I loaded the printer to configure the software, I selected Prusa I3 instead of Original Prusa I3, which made the wrong definition be loaded. I have loaded the right one and then it works perfectly. Sorry for warning about this issue, everything works well with this new firmware.

For the past 2-3 firmware, my MK3 prints fine EXCEPT is stops printing for 2-3 seconds and it continues on doing the same thing every minute. What is my problem?

Thanks

Sorry:( I jumped the gun. I now realize that is was the stl file that was stopping. It was the vase.stl off the site.

Thanks

My MMU2.0 arrived but I have not had time to assmeble and start using it yet. Is the firmware for the printer contained in the Mk3 firmware download, and the Mk3MMU2 the same? I see they both have a printer firmware .hex file, but the MMU2 folder also has firmware for the MMU, just wanting to know if I've already updated to the latest MK3 firmware, do I need to reflash with the printer firmware file in the MMU2 folder when I get to building/installing it.

I had the same problem and I read for 90 secs and found the answer. Just a blast of air will solve the problem into the side of the extruder. Clears all the dust away.

The purge line has moved up a few mm for me with the new FW.
The purge line is defined in your startup gcode and will vary from slicer to slicer. If it's causing problems, you can fix it there.

I understand that but this is the second firmware that has "adjusted" the purge line location on the bed.... Granted I can add another -3mm to the Y location in the slicer Gcode and push it to -6mm from the print area to bring the purge line to where it was in every firmware but one other... Or can point it out in case it's an error in coding... One other thing I'm noticing is that the left, facing the printer, bearing smacks into the Y-Axis rod holder pretty hard and sometimes when I move the Y axis using the knob to move the print bed forward after a print then the printer goes into an XYZ re homing mode which requires a power kill on my end to keep it from hitting my printed parts. For me at least there is no real benefit to this version so I think I'm once again going to revert to 3.3.1

That sounds like a hardware issue. I'd definitely work with tech support to resolve that issue before worrying about the purge line!

Nope! Was a user malfunction... I re-did the Y-Axis over the weekend and replaced the belt but left it long for some stupid reason and the belt was interfering with the Y-Axis movement. I trimmed the belt properly and all is well now. So that's a big DOH!! on my part.

Hello,

So If I'm upgrading my Firmware from 3.1 to 3.4.1 should I do a Full Factory Reset as well and go through the Calibration Flow?

It is not needed, but you can if you wish. You should do the first layer calibration again, as that may have changed quite a bit.
