Debating about MK3....

I know, thousands have had the same question, but please, hear me out.

I have the original MK2 and apart from the loud noise (especially the Y axis) and few print quality problems (skipped layer perhaps) I have nothing to complain about.
Recently I've been thinking of upgrading my printer and after doing some simple math I realized that it is actually cheaper to sell the MK2 and buy a new MK3. But then, I came across the MK3 users posting their problems.

Now, here is the question, especially to those who have done all the upgrades and can tell which one actually worth it. if you were me, which way would you go?

Options I can think of:
1)Upgrade to MK2s
2)Upgrade to MK2.5
3)Upgrade to both MK2s and MK2.5
4)Sell the MK2 and buy the MK3 (Can it really print faster than MK2? Does it really take care of the shifted/skipped layers?)
5)?

Thank you in advance

Thanks for the reply, I would definitely consider that if I was making money out of my prints.

4) Sell the MK2 and buy the MK3 (Can it really print faster than MK2? Does it really take care of the shifted/skipped layers?)

If buying MK3 in addition is not an option (that's why I actually did 😀 ) then I would go for option 4.
Yes, MK3 can print faster, and crash detection can be deactivated if it doesn't work for you.
And yes MK3 is more silent.
Some people see something magical in their MK2 prints but my MK3 produces better prints.

Hello.
Keep MK2, upgrade to MK2.5, mount MMU2 and enjoy with colored things.
Buy MK3 for mono-color and fast print.
Or inverse : MK3 with MMU2 and at the other hand the MK2S or upgrade to MK2.5.
But money money ...

Thanks for your reply 🙂 I basically dont have much space for another printer, the space i have left is reserved for a CNC router (with extra laser head for engraving).

Interesting, that's probably be the only reason I would consider keeping the MK2, cuz otherwise I'm not printing enough to have the need for a second printer. On the other hand a printer sporting the MMU2 could also be used for mono color prints as well.

Thanks for the interesting idea

Space can be made by stacking the printers. I'm using 3 ikea LACK tables stacked. So same space is being used

This is not exclusive option. It should be "And safe some money for the MK4 ... " 😆
