Any Issues not being UL approved shipping to the USA?

MK3 hardware:
I see a CE cert (which is self-served) but no others.
Does anyone know of issues for shipping non UL equip to the USA?
I'm assuming home owners insurance wouldn't be happy.

Thanks

UL is not required to sell the device in the USA.

It is a nice to have because some governmental agencies would require it. I am surprised that American Schools have been able to purchase it without one. Perhaps it has just been overlooked.

You can hire an NRTL to do a field evaluation on it if your concerned, it will cost as much as the printer though.
I do this type of approvals here in Canada and have been hired by a couple universities here to approve them electrically for use across Canada.

interesting - curious how one would prove that these are OK given all the plastics around hot parts and around electrical parts that could fail. 😕

Do they have to have a person to monitor them? it would seem ok, then.

that said, I'm no expert on it...

The PET plastic passes the mandatory flame test and all of the wiring from the power supply is current limited low voltage wiring.
They are safer then your toaster which glows red hot and has exposed 120 or 240v elements that could shock you via your butter knife! 😯

That’s the marking on just the power supply. If anyone gets bent over being not UL listed you could always replace the PSU with one of the Meanwell models.
