Z Error following Hot End Replacement

I’ve had my MK3S around 2 years now and have produced plenty of flawless prints with it, so really happy with it.

I recently had ‘pre hot end leakage’ and chose to replace the unit (purchased E3D V6 unit).
I’ve gone to use the printer and found that it was not printing well so decided to re-calibrate using the onboard calibration.

Fans tested Ok
X tested Ok
Y tested Ok
But with the Z test the right sided stepper motor kept driving when the nozzle had reached its home position?

I re-levelled the motor (drove to top and then levelled) and then selected XYZ Calibration
X tested Ok
Y tested Ok
I did as instructed and removed metal plate for the 4 point Z test and placed a sheet of paper on the bed as instructed(along with cleaning nozzle)

Printer started on point 1 but after approximately 20seconds the nozzle started moving the sheet of paper so I cut the power to the printer (as instructed).

Any thoughts/advice on where I’m going wrong with this? and obviously some advice on what I need to do to resolve the issue would be appreciated.

You could try a factory reset and resetting all data.

Manully check and reset if necessary, the Pinda setting (Steps 1 to 3 in this guide ( https://help.prusa3d.com/en/guide/5-preflight-check_58384))
then re try the config wizard

Ok, done a reset and XYZ now seem to be fine.

As it’s been a while since first setting up my printer, can anyone advise if my Z reading (currently on -275) needs to increase or decrease to resolve this issue of the Test Print?

Hi Mark,
I find the Prusa first layer calibration tool a bit clumsy, so I use
https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/original-prusa-i3-mk3s-mk3-assembly-and-first-prints-troubleshooting/life-adjust-z-my-way/
there are test patch gcodes in a zip file at the bottom of the first post.

regards Joan
