X/Y Belt Tensioner

I have to say that although assembly of the entire printer was a bit time consuming, it went very smoothly. My chief complaint with the entire build was the way that it approached the tensioning of both belts. I was able to power through it but made a mental note that I should come up with an easier process.

Prior to purchasing the mk3 s+, my work horse was an anycubic i3 mega. I cut my teeth on that printer and it has a soft spot in my heart. Although, over the course of using it i've noticed that it had some issues, and I really wanted to convert the bowden extruder to a direct drive. Having a 2nd printer has made that a possibility. I've been busy designing the unit with a lot of characteristics derived from the mk3.

Here's my solution to the belt tension problem. Note that this has been designed for my anycubic, but plan to make one for the mk3. Not that it will help me now, my printer is put together. I hope that this proves to be a better concept that can be incorperated in future mk3 kits.... one can only hope... right???

I look forward to your feedback. Enjoy...

The design is definitely interesting, easy to use and can certainly be integrated for any printer with belt drive. If you have developed something for the MK3, it would be great if you could share it with us 👍

I just put everything together and was amazed at how easy it was to tighten the belt. running the new extruder design through its paces, and hope it holds up.

as for designing one for the mk3, that is definitely on the list to do.... Hopefully I'll have something soon....

I had some free time the last few evenings to model this up... I'm in the process of printing all the parts right now. I will report back later

The critical geometry is still the same and I tried to stay true to the overall design. I can't for it to finish printing so that I can try it out...
