Wrong Home Position

Hi together,

I have problems with my mk3.
When I make the calibration wizzard the printer find a wrong home position in x.
The position is nearly in the middle of the printer.
When the printer makes the length test it drives to both endpoints. But when he makes the end stop test he drive maybe 4cm from the left endstop

So i can't pass the xyz calibration.

Info: Before I changed the bearings on the x and z axle the printer works fine.
The selftest at the beginning is also ok.

Re: Wrong Home Position

Did you check that the X axis can move freely? I had a similar problem after modifying my Y axis. It turned out the rods were not perfectly aligned, leading to rough movement (as experienced by moving the heatbed by hand) and corresponding skipped steps by the motor (which was the cause for my wrong home position). Once I realigned and rechecked that I could move the axis with very little manual effort, homing worked again.

Hi Michael

Your images are not showing.

I suspect changing the bearings has caused this problem. The x axis is binding which makes the printer think that it has reached the endstop. Remove your x axis belt and make sure that the x carriage can move freely across the whole width of the machine. It should be loose enough so that if you tilt the printer the carriage will move on its own. If you cannot achieve this smooth side to side movement without any binding you will not pass calibrations tests.

Good luck 🙂

Re: Wrong Home Position

Here a Video i have tighten the belt by one teath. Maybe that is/was the problem. I had dissassembelt the E Axle found nothing and put all together. Now the printer is running again. I had the problem again for five minutes. The E Axle was in the middle and i Put the Auto Home Knop under calibration. He drove to the middle and not to the legt. I switched the printer off and pushed the e axle to the left end stop. Than i did the Autohome calibration again and now the printer found the right home position. Strange
