Hello and welcome to the Prusaforum!

I strongly suspect that the area between the nozzle and the heatbreak was not sealed and therefore filament could escape from the side.

The nozzle-heatbreak area must seal and the nozzle must have a distance (gap) of approx. 0.5mm to the heating block (see figure).
