What is the point of putting in the Nylon Filament?
Now I'm on step 37, and I'm wondering, why do I have to insert the filament? What is its function?

Strain relief for the cable bundle would be its main goal i think.

It provides extra stiffness to the cable bundle, which:
1. Makes it easier to wrap the bundle (Step 38) and
2. Helps keep the bundle up & away from the bed and other places it might cause interference/problems.
I know it's a pain, and they should have explained the rationale better (or more visibly) but I wouldn't skip this as some have done. Once you start printing, the reasons will become more clear. 🙂
