Under extrusion, not sure what to do
I am having under extrusion problems on my mk3s, newly built.

I am using the silver pla that came with the kit, I can print maybe 2 small prints and they print fine, leave the printer off for an hour, start the same prints again and under extrusion again, I reload the pla and it's ok again for another print.

Today I removed prusa heatbreak and installed the E3D titanium heatbreak, thinking this might help, but it's still the same, I am getting so frustrated with it, as it's so close to working correctly, if anyone can help or advise me that would be amazing thank you.

Things I've tried...
different temps (from 205c to 215c)
flow % changes
installed E3d titanium heatbreak
checked the PTFE is seated and clear
many cold pulls
changed the idler tension on the extruder (I've tried all different amounts of tension)
checked the extruder gear alignments
not sure what else do to, maybe it's the PLA?

Honestly, from that picture, it is hard to tell there is any problem at all. How are you determining you have an issue?

There is definitely a problem, if I unload the PLA and reload, I can print the file again fine, the next time I come to print it, I get gaps between the lines and the print looks horrible, I think the PLA is melting too high up in the heatbreak, maybe I have some setting wrong in the slicer, I have some experience with other printers, but I am totally new to printing PLA on a MK3S

@mattj

do you  let the printer cool till the extruder fan switches off (50Centigrade)
if not the extruder heat creeps up the heat break, into the cold end! and can cause clogs

I have switched it off before letting it cool yes, I didn't realise that happens, so I should let it cool almost completely before switching off?

Do you think it's worth me trying a different brand PLA?

Not yet, just try letting the next print cool before switching off, and see what happens the next time
