Steel sheet holes

Hello,
The mk3 is my first printer and, a lot of help from friends, It is now assembled and running smoothly. There is something, though, that I cannot find an answer to.

The PEI coated steel sheet has two holes, which line up with the two screws on the heatbed. Though these holes seem to go through the steel, they are blocked on both sides by something transparent, so i cannot use them to align the steel sheet to the heatbed.

Does someone know if the holes are supposed to be or remain blocked?
Or is it that I forgot to remove something? maybe part of the packaging...

Thanks in advance

Best,
Nicolás

Re: Steel sheet holes

Hi Nicolas,

the two holes are covered in PEI sheet, they are not meant to go over the pins.
at the other end of the steel sheet ar either two V notches, or a cutout section with angled sides at each end.

these align with the pins to locate your steel plate

regards
Joan

Re: Steel sheet holes

The holes are part of the sheet production process. They are for hanging the sheets during powder coating but we all know how welll that's been working out.
