rough surface 0,05 layer hight

Hello,

I have a kit MK3 and already did a few successfull prints. The Benchy from the SD card looks fine. But when I print PLA with 0,05 layer hight already tiny overhangs are very rough, feel like sandpaper. I also get tiny blobs or something simelar at retraction points. Played around with retraction speed and distance with very little results.

I printed in standard settings from Slic3r for 0,05 ultra detail. The problem does not show with 0,15 optimal. The model is only 20 mm high.

What could be the problem? Overextrusion? How do I fix it?

Another issue are small layer shifts.

Thank you for your ideas!

Re: rough surface 0,05 layer hight

Try playing with the filament flow rate. That looks similar to an under extrusion result I got dialling in a new a 0.25mm nozzle. Prusa deliberately increases the flow rate for a layer height less than 0.075mm using the start G-Code:-

M221 S{if layer_height<0.075}100{else}95{endif}

So playing with the flow rate may solve it for you. When you have found a working value put it back to your normal value and replace the 100 in the G-Code above with the value you found.

Martin
