Question About the "Unloading Filament" Command and When to Begin Pulling Filament Out

When using the "Unload Filament" feature, when is the appropriate time to begin pulling out the filament?  Are we supposed to wait until all extruder movement has completed (until the screen pops up that tells us to immediately remove the filament), or are we supposed to manually guide the filament out of the extruder simultaneous to the backwards movement of the motor?  It seems that waiting until the movement stops can sometimes result in the filament solidifying before it has backed all the way out, making it more difficult to pull it all the way out of the hole at the top of the extruder.  Is that correct, or am I perhaps doing something wrong?  What is the best/proper method of doing this?

Thanks for your help!

Wait till screen tells you to pull it out. It need to heat up the nozzle and when it reached certain temp, the screen will pop up telling you to pull filament out.

@jmh714

Thanks.  This is how I've been doing it all along, but just wanted to be sure.
