Problem with x axis stepper

Hi I replace text stepper motor with another ldo stepper and now I'm having problems with sensorless homing and if it's homing correctly occasionally the motor will loose its position for second while printing but come right back.....here is stepper I used

RE: Problem with x axis stepper

Can I ask why you needed to replace the stepper? It is not unheard of but steppers don't fail that often, and the prusa ones are very high quality.

Additionally , you have replaced with a non original prusa motor.  This can cause issues if not exactly the same spec.

Can you give a few more details of the original fault, model of printer, age, kit or prebuilt.

Someone should be able to assist, but we need some more info please.

Tank you very much!

I am lurking on this one  I have a two-stepper-ectomy for my Mk3S still on hold in the back of my mind - but I have all of the parts already (trying the vertical blemish caused by stepper cycle reset behavior in prusa motors - or something like that.  Since it would take my rig off line for a couple of hours, I haven't found the gap in the schedule to try (let alone the risk that I'd be up the creek and down even longer)

Spec. original Prusa stepper:

yours:

The specifications (max. 1A) do not match. You will have to adjust the current values (homing, stallguard) in the FW.

https://www.trinamic.com/technology/motor-control-technology/stallguard-and-coolstep/

But I would rather recommend to install the Prusa specified stepper (LDO_42STH38-1004A or similar).

RE: Problem with x axis stepper

What happened is while ago I purchased an upgrade kit which came pretty much would everything less printed parts stepper Motors and LCD display. After several built mk3s printers I was left over with the motor in question and I figured I'll just use it on E axis since the wire length was the same. Again nothing wrong with any of my printers this was just a fresh build. I always try to use ldo motors as I never had an issue with any of them and its the company that supplies prusa with their original steppers.. so basically wondering if it's worth playing around with parameters in the firmware or just use a stepper motor that is compatible and again I didn't realize it would not work properly until printer was finished. I have never messed with prusa firmware before so no clue how to even go about it but I do have several off 1004 asr,s laying around please see the photo would these work?
