Power cable loose?

I finished my Mk3s build a week or so ago and my prints have been stellar. Not a single complaint there. From a hardware perspective though, I do have one issue and I'd like to see if it's just me or not. The main power cable that plugs from the wall into the PSU seems really loose. Like it doesn't plug all the way in or something and if I move the machine much at all, the power cuts out. Is this just how it's designed? You can see from the attached picture what I'm talking about. I can't push it in any more than that. I've tried googling this but couldn't really find anyone else with the same problem.

Push it in all the way. I mean really push it.

I thought I had a bad PSU - until I realized the plug was not seated.

From your picture, it needs to go in another 1/4".

@robert-rmm200

I mean, I can tell that it's hanging way out there. I tried pushing pretty hard. Much harder than I've ever had to push a power cable before but I'll give it another shot when I get home and try to push it harder. I just didn't want to break anything.

Mine is the same way. I was using a different cable for a PC until I had to switch to the stock one so it would fit through the lack hole and I can barely get it in there. Was planning to investigate more when my printer is back up (waiting for a new FINDA)..

I will say - if it ever seats - it gets better.

I seem to remove my printer from the Lack enclosure on a regular basis - and it has never been as hard reseating the plug as the first time.

I happen to like the Prusa power cable, or I would certainly have tried a different one.

I had the same problem, I replaced it with one from a computer that fit it better.

I feel kind of dumb, but yeah I just needed to push harder. 😂 All is well now.

Many thanks for creating this thread - I have just experienced the same issue.

I've been printing since December - never noticed that the mains connector was loose - until today. Kept getting power cut outs

Traced to the IEC mains connector. I even stripped down the PSU to see why it was unreliable.

Turned out I just needed to push the connector in really really hard 🙂

Sometimes the hardest faults are so easy, once you find them!
