Overextrude or what happen to my print?

Hello everyone,

I did some prints with the https://github.com/prusa3d/Prusa-Firmware/wiki/Extruder-linearity-correction-calibration gcode. The prints are good, except the bubbles at one edge. Can someone give me a hint to firgure out what the issue is and how may I solve it?

Best regard,
Ingo

That's a pre-generated gcode file, so there's not a lot you can adjust unfortunately.

@nonstro
What is right, but I expect no bubbles at all because other i3 Mk3 printed the tower without any bubbles. So I think the bubbles must be related to my printer. I also saw some unusual ozzing on other simple models with the Prusa Silver PLA on my printers.

This looks like a leaky hotend.

This can occur when the nozzle is not 'hot-tightened' against the heatbreak, filament will seep out of the cracks below or above the heaterblock, down to the print.

This usually looks like small water drops. It's cooked/molten filament.

Look here for hot tightening (step 28)

If you ignore this, the next thing that will happen is this:

Filament that drew moisture will look differently. (there are real bubbles in the extruded filament.)

Thx for the reply devilhunter.

In the end, it was easier. Looks like my printer i3 Mk3 with Firmware 3.3.0-830 had issues with this model and printing it via USB attached Octoprint. I watched my print a bit longer and could investigate, that it stops several times for > 10 seconds at some spots and then continue printing (led the nozzle to bleed out). Printing with an SD has no issues so far.

Ah this makes sense.

There are some non standard Gcodes in this test print that makes octoprint hang. You should only print this tower from the SD card.
I'm surprised it finished at all, many people had octoprint hang forever and then timeout.
