New MK3s+ kit stuck on XYZ Calibration

I just finished assembling my MK3s+ kit today and started the wizard. The self test completed without any issues but the XYZ Calibration failed after the 4th calibration point with the message 'XYZ Calibration failed. Please consult the manual'. I've tried moving the superpinda probe up and down in various positions but always end up failing in the same place. The probe is blinking when moving over the calibration points so I believe the probe is working. The probe is also centered on the calibration points during the test so positioning in X-Y doesn't seem to be the issue. X and Y axis move evenly with no fetching up and belt tension is good. I verified the gears on the X & Y motors are both tightened down. It came with 3.9.2 firmware so I haven't changed that.

Any ideas on what else to check? I'm at a bit of a loss as to how to proceed.

RE: New MK3s+ kit stuck on XYZ Calibration

I have the same issue. I just rebuilt my printer with a Bondtech geared extruder and was looking forward to trying it out. Flashed 3.9.2 from Bondtech (because of the extruder steps). X and Y calibration completed fine, Z runs up to the top, then down to the bed, nozzle touches the bed (with steel sheet removed), Z calibration fails. When I go to "move axis" afterwards Z height reads as +5 mm.

UPDATE
I can confirm my PINDA probe is detecting metal (did the test shown here https://help.prusa3d.com/en/article/p-i-n-d-a-sensor-testing_2091) and it goes to 1 when I hold pliers to it.

A factory reset can sometimes work wonders. I would also check the belt tensions again.

@karl-herbert

I checked the belt tension and they were reading a little tight so I dialed them into the recommended range X 257, Y 267 but still had the same issue. I then tried a factory reset and went through the quick start and XYZ calibration and was fetched up at the same spot again.

I measured distance from the top of the probe holder to the bed with calipers at each of the calibration points and the relative difference was no greater than 0.74mm. I loosened the bed screws and retightened to get it down to ~0.58mm but that also didn't help.

I don't see a detailed description of the expected behavior of this test but for me after it tops out Z it starts in front left with a high spiral pass where the probe light stays on the entire time, 2nd pass is in back and forth rows where Z is slightly moving up and down turning the probe light off and on, then third pass it looks to be centered on the calibration point and moving diagonally out at the same Z until the light turns back on. Then the same for the other 3 points going counter clockwise around the bed

Watching it a little closer this time I noticed the first first calibration point may be the issue. In the 3rd pass of the first calibration point where it checks the diagonals, the light comes back on for back right & back left but it cannot seem to get off the calibration point and light the light when it goes front left. Because it can't complete this direction it never tries front right. The other three calibration points appear to successfully detect coming off the calibration point in all 4 diagonals. The position of the probe looks like it may be a little further towards the back of the machine compared to the calibration point graphic on the bed during that final diagonals check that would make it harder to come off the calibration point in that front left direction. That said the other 3 calibration points look to have the probe centered on them. And as mentioned I loosened all bed screwed and retightened to correct any alignment and improve height differences but its still failing after testing the fourth calibration point.

I spoke with a Live Chat rep who says this is most likely a known firmware issue and just to continue on with Z calibration. Thank you for those that commented.
