New MK3, y axis drifting & extruder leaking

Brand new MK3, and I'm having 2 problems

The first is that material "leaks" out of the extruder tip during meshbed leveling. This leaves fine stings (and sometimes blobs) on the hotbed prior to printing. Especially annoying because the center of the bed is one of the 9 points used during leveling, and thats where the part typical is printed.

The bigger problem is layers drifting in the y axis. I printed a 1"x1"x1" cube (20% fill, 0.05mm layers) for testing. The left and right faces are perfectly flat and perpendicular to the hotbed. The front and rear faces slowly drift. Near the base you can see some staggering offsets too.

The "back and forth" errors (too far forward, followed by one to far back) typically only happen in the first dozen layers
Below is a picture from the right side.

Any ideas?

there is a thread on here about changing the start code to do bed levelling at 170C to prevent dribbling

the Y shift may be due to an error on the Y motor toothed pulley, when you assemble the pulley on the motor shaft, one of the pulley securing grub screws is supposed to be tightened against the centre of the flat on the motor shaft, it may be that the grub screws are loose!

Thanks Joan.

They were both loose.

Must have been one of the MANY "But don't tighten it yet", and I missed the part where it said to tighten them. Makes me wonder how many others I missed 🙁
