MK3S problem

Hi guys,

New here so, hello! 🙂

I've recently bought a MK3S fully assembled and I've hit a problem.

I've been printing fine with no problems for the first week - Benchy, Prusa bottle opener, T-800 skull (32 hours and came out great!) and a batman bust to test it out with big and small prints and as stated, they all came out flawless.

I had a power cut while the printer was powered on (but not printing) and since then for some reason the first layer of anything I try to print no longer really sticks (plate is clean and oil free) and there is A LOT of stringing. Like the filament is now getting too hot. I've run the calibration again just to see if there was an issue and everything went smoothly. I've changed filament too just in case it was that but the same issue persists.

Any suggestions?

Post a photo...

But - it could be nvram was somehow corrupted.. unlikley, but, things happen.  You might try a full factory reset with data clear (there's an option in the reset menu to do this). Then run a full calibration. Sort of a pain, but what needs to happen when nv is hammered.

On the flip side, over time stuff collects on the print sheet and adhesion requires routine cleaning of said sheet. Also, PLA will absorb water from the air, and can get stringy over time. But a week is pretty fast for this to happen, but possible if the filament wasn't properly stored.

Hello and welcome to the Prusaforum!

In your case I would turn to the Prusachat. Log in and choose the eshop. After a few seconds a chat window appears in the lower right corner. Addblocker or similar should be deactivated.

@tim-m30

Cheers for the reply!

So I've conducted a factory rest, removed and cleaned the nozzle in case there was a blockage and the issue still persists. Calibrated a few times just to make sure too.

Looks like its a support job.
