MK3S, FW3.7.0-2201, XYZ Calibration fails regularly on 3rd point

Hi Community,

after finishing my MK3S kit build, I thougth I'd be ready to start printing. But the assistent for the initial calibration seems not to be statisfied by my work :-(.

When trying to locate the right rear calibration point, the log produces the following output line after line:

I've done the tweaks mentioned in other issues, like lowering the probe, conrolling belt tension, looking for possible colliding items and so on, but I'm running into this over and over again.
When looking at the "results" of points 0 and 1, there is no field of zeroes, but some kind of filtered(?) result of the first part of the measurement.

Any further suggestions for dealing with this?
Kind regards
Jo

There is a rare chance your bed is missing the metal insert ... but generally this problem is caused by a PINDA being too high off the fiberglass bed, and thus unable to detect the metal insert.  If lowering the PINDA a millimeter did not help - you should contact Prusa Tech Support and talk them through what you have tried.

When you look at the numbers, there is a clear round spot, which I believe is the right spot. It's properly detected. But then the firmware decides, the spot in lower left corner is much, much more intense and tries to calibrate on that. It is likely the screw that's nearby.

Which would mean that the firmware doesn't expect to see the screw in the scan. Which would mean that your [0,0] home position is offset and the printer is searching in a slightly different area and finds more than it hoped for. Which would mean that something has offset your home position - and since the printer doesn't have endstops and is measuring simply by finding where it can't move anymore, it'd suggest that the Y axis can't reach the full extent in the back by a few milimeters. Is something blocking it perhaps? (it may also be the X axis possibly)

Thank you very much for your support, your idea was perfectly right. The missing millimeter on the y-axis was the cause.

Kind regards

It was a long shot. I'm glad it helped.
