Is this a First Layer Calibration issue?

I've been trying to get the first layer calibration set correctly.  The calibration process yields results that seem correct visually.  However, in printing a simple cube the bottom layers look odd.  See photo. Would this mean the print head is too close, too far away or some other issue? Thanks!

Bad pic. Looks like the nozzle being way too high, laying individual strings next to each other instead of squishing thw lines. If you hold it against light, can you see see the material between the lines being thinner? Can you rip up the prints into individual strings?

I try to give answers to the best of my ability, but I am not a 3D printing pro by any means, and anything you do you do at your own risk. BTW: I have no food for…

Perhaps this photo is better.  It's really just those first few layers. The upper layers are look fine in "real life"

I'd also guess that it's first layer set too high, a close up picture of the bottom would help.

Could also be poor adhesion, first layer edges not sticking and getting pulled in.  What does it look like while it's printing the first layer?

It looks  warped.  Curled upward on one corner.

So it's lifting off the bed then?  Bad adhesion can be caused by either the bed needing cleaning or nozzle too high on first layer.

How have you cleaned the bed?  Take the steel sheet to a sink and give it a good cleaning with soap and water, then rinse it well with water, then dry it well with a clean towel.  Put it on the printer and heat it up to really dry it out.  Don't touch the printable areas of the bed, fingerprints can stop PLA from sticking.

If it still looks the same after cleaning the bed post a picture of the bottom of the print, it's usually easy to tell if the first layer is too high or low by looking at the bottom of the print.
