Heater cables touching heatblock - ok?

After a disastrous PLA blob (caused by printing near a leaky window in the very cold weather overnight without thinking...) I had to replace the heater cartridge and thermistor.

I read on the E3D wiki that you should not let the thermistor wires touch the heatblock.

But what about the red protective cable sleeves, are they heatproof?

Is this okay?

They shouldn't no.  Also that heatblock appears twisted.  It should be square with the rest of the printer.  If its twisted like that then it will be closer to the fan shroud on one side and that could cause heat to deform it more than usual.
