Heat break was found cross threaded after many failed prints and wrong advice

I have been having issues with printing from after kit assembly. IPLA creept up inside between the heat block and break and I have no idea until it started dripping off the nozzle onto the bed. I have those pictures as well.

After weeks of soaking the whole lower half of the extruder to get these parts out, I finally figure out my issue.Proper alignmentShowing cross thread poor alignment

Best Answer by Igmu:

I bought a new heat block that was just delivered that included a new break and screws. However, I wanted to put all old hardware and only changing the block. Looks straight to me.

Here are a couple pictures after getting the assembly out.

I can't imagine how it could ever have printed being that crooked. How did that happen? The heatbreak is install without tools.

Assembled with only replacing block and looking good so far. Torqued nozzle to 1.5nm. Next for electronics and then testing.

@baklin

I have no idea how the cross threading happened. Each time I try to get it to align perpendicular to the block, it tilts as I screw it in.

Out isn't the heat break, but the aluminum heat block that is cross threaded. My typo. Inserting old heat break into the new heat block went perfect. Tried it again with the old block and still messed up.

Maybe I'll try to rethread the block and use boron nitrate as a filler for at least as a spare tire to reduce down time.
