Good benchy except top of rear window

I tried printing benchy as my first ever 3d print. It turned out well except the top of the circular window in the back. Here's a picture. Any ideas what it could be? The PLA was sitting unwrapped for about 2 years, in case that matters. I did the run 3 times and all 3 benchys have the same defect in the same location. Rest of the boat looks good.

That's a pretty typical result. The very top of that window is intended to show bridging, literally the result of printing on air with no support underneath. There will always be some degree of extrusions that have a circular cross-section when bridging since there are no underlying layers to squish against for good adhesion. What can help bridging is decreasing heat, whether by using a lower filament printing temperature or increasing cooling for bridging.

Keep your early Benchy prints for comparison and as you master slicer settings, you should see small improvements in areas like that.

Congrats.

Very nice benchy, much better than mine. Now I'm thinking there is an issue with my printer.
