Flexifill material jamming

I purchased the flexifill material from prusa but it is constantly jamming in the feeder. Is there a fix for this?

Did you build the kit or recently replace the PTFE tube in the hot end?   Any chance the PTFE is in upside down, so the pointy end is at the top rather than pointed down?

There's been discussions about the MK3S motor shaft being offset a millimeter - enough it interferes with printing flex. There is a modified housing design floating around that moved the motor to fix the issue.  Unfortunately I didn't save the link, but there are a couple threads about it here.

ps; maybe this? https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/original-prusa-i3-mk3s-mk3-user-mods-octoprint-enclosures-nozzles-.../modified-c1-r4-mk3s-parts-better-filament-path-and-a-version-for-mk3-sensor/paged/5/#post-143987

and what speed do you have the extruder set to for that filament.

RE: Flexifill material jamming

I've been playing with flex fillament, not prusa but should apply, and i had the very same problem.

In order to get it working, at least most of the time since still had some minor problems i had to 2 things:

  • Create a new printer profile for flex disabling extruder retraction. In some cases the retraction was the cause of the jamming with flex material
  • Loosen the extruder screw all the way, i leave the door open, close it and put the screw, the very first moment it got in the door i stopped tightening it, so the door it's not tight its really loose. Anything but that pressure resulted in a jammed extruder motor
