First Layer Again

Finally finished building my new Prusa, but, cant get past the "first layer calibration" stage.

Tried from 0 to -1.500 where it is to close to bed and ends up just a mess.

In the video its set to -0.600. It seems to do the first line ok. Then it does the first "square" ok but then seems to go thin and doesnt stick.

Also checked the extrusion as suggested in another post and the 2 pictures show the results

Note - Steel sheet has been cleaned with hot water and dish soap as well as 99% alcohol

Any help would be great.

Regards

Bill

RE: First Layer Again

You are not low enough.

Re check your SPINDA probe adjust again as per the manual.  Then lower live z until the lines stick to the sheet, then keep lowering until you get a solid sheet where there are no gaps between the lines.

Use this, and skip to pg 40 where Joan has a good photo of what to look for
