Can someone help me with what I may have set wrong?
Hi all. Here is two attempts at one of my first prints. As you can see they basically are lifting about the same area on the bed just one has more noticable symptoms than the other. Any idea what the problem would be? Thanks!

The nozzle is too close to the print bed.
Do a first layer calibration.

I thing this are two probles togethzer. 1) Deformation that can't be compensated by 3x3 bed leveling. Upgrade firmware to 3.7.0 and use 7x7 leveling. This will get you nice first layer. 2) Adhesion of the new bed. Use aceton or something stronger to cleean the first layer. What I do when the chemical cleaning doesnt work perfectly is to print 2 or 3 times square covering whole bed (1 layer). Each atempt you see better adhesion. Then print whatever you are up to.

From the photo it is difficult to judge why the layer is lifting. But common causes are bed contamination, filament contamination, and layer 1 calibration. There was another thread recently by a person having a similar problem. He cleaned the bed with soap and water, and made sure his layer 1 was set to 0.20 mm, and his prints started working. It appears to me your layer 1 is too thick (nozzle not close enough to the bed).
Always remember: do NOT handle the bed with fingers; fingerprints and PLA do not mix.
Hot Water wash: as needed
Handle the bed only by the edges.
Wash the bed in hot water, use a fresh paper towel as a wash cloth, with a few drops of plain dish soap (Dawn, unscented, no anti-bacterial, etc.). Rinse well in hot water - if you have very soft water, rinse a bit longer.
Dry the bed with a fresh paper towel.
Handle the bed only by the edges.
Place bed on printer.
Alcohol rinse: every few prints
Once in a while, an alcohol rinse is helpful to remove PLA residue. It does not remove finger oils.
Pour a 5 cm puddle of 91%+ alcohol in the middle of the bed, use a fresh paper towel to scrub the bed. Wipe up all the alcohol.
Streak test: when contamination is suspected and after a wash
With a fresh piece of paper towel, and very clean fingers, dampen the towel with 91%+ alcohol, and wipe the bed side to side moving back to front, like you're painting it with alcohol. The alcohol should be thin enough on the towel it quickly evaporates. If you see any streaks, the bed is dirty and needs a wash.
Acetone wash: infrequent
Pour a 2 cm puddle of acetone on the bed, scrub it around with a fresh paper towel. It will evaporate fast as you clean. This step removes PEI oxides that form over time and with heat, and improves PLA adhesion to a like new state.

Recalibrated the first layer. Watched a video on YouTube of a guy who explained it very well. It got rid of that problem I was having. Just one question though. What causes these types of bumps on the layers I circled in the picture. It happens on the other printers I have too. Sorry, I'm very new to this so please forgive my noobishness. I appreciate your help. Thank you

Those bumps can be caused by poor adhesion due to a contaminant on the bed (soap or finger prints) or the bed is not level there.

Most new printer owners - for whatever reason - just can't believe an invisible fingerprint can cause problems. Even when most anyone you ask that has been printing a while will tell them to NEVER touch the bed with fingers; wash in hot water using new paper towels to clean and dry (to avoid dish grease getting on the bed). Instead, some even try to fix the "adhesion problem" by sanding the PEI sheet.
Here's an image of my bed after a wash. I did a quick half-arsed job and look what's happening: where I left a streak of finger print the PLA is lifting.
In some cases, what looks like ridges at the edges of layer 1 are real extrusion artifacts, and the effect of over extrusion or too thin a layer. But these are normally thin ridges along the edges of the actual nozzle path, up against the last nozzle path. But these are thin defects, not the plastic lifting off the bed.

You're still a tad too close on your Live-Z adjustment. Try raising it (making it less negative) by 0.02mm increments until those smooth out. If you have not already done so, try using Jeff Jordan's "Life Adjust" procedure for calibrating your Live-Z setting. It is much easier to use and understand than the on-board routine.
