Broken x-carraige, printed another, zip tie slots blocked

Hello all,

Sorry if this has been covered. I attempted a couple of searches but came up blank.

During assembly, I managed to break the X-carriage (B7 version) while tightening a fastener on X-carriage back - yeah, last fastener (upper right looking at the X-carriage back)....just making them even and snap. Ooops.

Anyway, I figured no problem, I will have a friend print another. I downloaded STL files for printable parts for i3 mk3 and sent the file over to my friend as well as a spool of ABS filament - neither of us had access to PTEG and a search showed ABS would be appropriate substitute.

He printed out the part for me (on an i3 mk3) from STL file with settings: 0.2 mm layer height, infill 20% GRID with ABS substitution.

The part seemed to come out well until I went to insert the zip ties into the zip tie slots. I cannot get the zip ties through...seems the slots are pretty blocked. I attempted to clear them out with some MIG welding wire (0.35) without any luck.

So, I could use some help here.

1. ABS OK substitute, or do I need to get PTEG?
2 I was using filament make by Hatchbox which seemed to have appropriate specs. good assumption good here?
3. Printing settings that should be played with?
4. Another way to unblock the zip tie slots?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Richard

Abs has mire shrinkage than petg so probably have to scake the part bigger. I dont know percentage...

But that oart does not have to handle heat. So you could use PLA. No problems. No scaling either.

When you try to insert the zip ties next time. Bend the very end of your zip tie in thr direction of curvature for an easier fit...
