Assembly Finished - Unable to feed filament into the extruder

When I get to the part of the setup wizard where I'm supposed to insert filament into the extruder, the ABS filament goes in about 1 cm and stops or seems blocked. I jiggle the filament but no luck. How do I diagnose this problem?  How do I take apart the extruder while it's on the printer?

As so often a problem that the filament sensor is not properly adjusted. Check the status on the LCD. Filament loaded = 1, not loaded = 0.

The top problem I see if the magnets being in wrong or the screw holding the sensor being too tight.

@karl-herbert

Thanks for the prompt response but this was my mistake. I put the extruder idler wheel in backwards. I've fixed and calibrated it and am printing some test prints.

No IR sensor hassles here (yet)

Thanks again for your help.

@pdirezze

Don't get it wrong, but usually the problem is in front of the printer. At least it is with me 👍

happy printing!

I just wanted to add a thakyou to the folks who set up your 360 degree viewer

It really helped diagnose my issue.
