A more accurate video tutorial of how to do first level calibration...

It would be nice to see a video like:

  • Starting, cool.
  • Oh wait...  the filament isn't fully loaded yet, start over.
  • Starting from zero, wow we have along way to go.......  not enough time to get to actual target values, start over.
  • Ok, now we are cooking...   wait, where the heck are my glasses, these are really small.  Start over.
  • Now we are cooking...  Darn, these are reaaaaaallllly small, do I need a microscope/magnifying glass?
  • OK, that is definitely smooshed too flat to the bed, I can tell that.  Raise it some.
  • I guess that is ok.  Maybe?  Not really sure.
  • We'll see on our first print.
  • Nope, need it a little closer to the bed.

Does this process match any of your experiences closer than the Josef ideal example?

I've put together an illustrated guide here that builds on Jeff Jordan's "Life Adjust" procedure. I've seen some videos, but it's very hard to get the lighting right to show some of the important results, so stuck to static pics.

In general, start high (at 0) when doing Live-Z and work down (more negative) until the line starts to adhere. If you start too low, it can be hard to tell until you get bad results.
