Extruder upgrades similar to MK3/3S?

I currently have stock MK2S and MK2S/MMUv1 printers and I was wondering if there are any official or highly rated upgrades to the MKS2 extruders or other components? For example the MK3 extruder had some changes to improve cooling and reduce heat creep...

Not a good example. This was caused by a poor fan choice (Noctua), which the Mk2 does not suffer from.

Based on my experience, if you have no issues with your printer and don't miss any features don't upgrade it. It applies to hardware and software.
In the last two years there were no security or safety features updates for MK2/MK3 series 😉

Well, I haven't had any problems with the MMUv1 yet, that weren't caused by me, but I also have not been printing anything large and/or complicated.

I have read posts about people making changes to the multiplexer, to the fan duct, etc. However, I haven't seen much in the way of users migrating to those types of mods.

Once I finish the current project (making drink coasters with the company logo, website, etc.) I was going to give a shot at printing some of our equipment and using BVOH supports (at the interface). When I printed on piece of equipment with our MK2S it was about 50 hour job and removing the supports was a pain. So, in a way I was hoping there were some tried and true mods that would, potentially, help the print not fail.

I replaced the stock extruder with Bondtech dual drive system to increase printing speed on Volcano Hotend.
Bondtech dual drive provides steady, consistent extrusion. Changing filament is quick and easy compared to the stock one.
I had to reduce extrusion multiplier from 1.174 to 0.83 on Slic3r. Printing speed doubled without any retraction issue, which I was expecting to see.

I'm installing MK2.5S extruder on a MK2S machine. MK2.5S's extruder is way more complex than Bondtech.
