Re: warp and crazy print quality on PLA

Hi AbdulAziz,

this effect is indicative of poor Z level adjustment, the nozzle is too close to the build plate, in the corner where the surface is rough

try reducing the negative value of Live Z adjustment, if it's say, -.350 now, try perhaps -320, see if this helps,
effectively you are trying to squeeze too much filament into too small a space. which causes the surface to ruck up...

if this change helps but doesn't sure the issue, try again with Live Z -.300

If your live z is set right and the mess was from the print lifting, then you need to get the print to stick better. Cleaning with acetone or at least 99% ipa should preveent this. On bigger prints, I have been using a brim.

Re: warp and crazy print quality on PLA

can you access pure acetone? not nail varnish remover (which has oils to protect fingers)
this can also clean your heat bed

In the UK, Acetone is used in professional finger nail shops. To remove acrylic nails...

Abdu,

Do not buy regular nail varnish remover. It has too many other ingredients. I have not found a source for pure acetone in Riyadh yet. Will post if and when I do.

To me something similar happened today. Not sure what it caused. The first layer and the rest seems ok but the top layer is just messed up. Never experienced this before. But I was thinking maybe of a temperature drift or something because those scars actually look like they popped out somehow after the print...

Re: warp and crazy print quality on PLA

Beware! I started with symptoms like yours and ended with a huge PLA tumor in the nozzle and a new V6 print head.

If you have checked first layer and is correct, extrusion is good, bed is clean with isopropyl/windex and or acetone and still have these issues, please, check the bolts and nuts that hold bed in place.

In my case I found that 2 of the 4 nuts were loose and although in the middle of the bed everything were acceptable, in the corners it was terrible with warping, ripples, baconing and the worse, severe lost of adhesion in general that made a part to come loose and sick to the nozzle ruining it.

Tell me if it works. I'm very interested in knowing if it is the same case than mine and if would have saved me from the plastic tumor.
