P.I.N.D.A. probe detects the entire right column as "point"

Hi there,

I have a strange behavior and with that a malfunction of the P.I.N.D.A. probe, therefore, a complete loss of my MK2S printer.

The probe detects the entire right side of the heated bed - if you divide the bed into three columns (left, middle, right) - as a point. I. e. that the red led of the P.I.N.D.A. probe turns off at about 150mm on the x-axis.

First I thought that it is the wiring. But I checked it all, and there are no broken wires or any other issues with that. The probe detects metal objects on every height and in every X position correctly. Moreover, as soon as I move the probe above an actual measuring point of the bed's right side, the LED turns on again (as if there is no point). So the point detection is somehow inverted for the right side - and this cannot be explained by a software issue, as there is no software detection inside the probe, right?

As soon as I move the extruder away from the bed or lower the bed by pressing it a little bit downwards, the LED gets back on.

I also flashed the most current firmware and reset the settings to factory defaults, with no luck.

Does anyone have the same issue? Is my bed broken?

I cannot calibrate the printer anymore, and the bed mesh leveling fails on every print. Can I somehow turn it off for the time I am living with this issue?

Best wishes,
Martin

I had a similar problem with my MK2S where it intermittently would not detect the front right side point and it turned out to be excessive height of the PINDA probe. I lowered it to about 0.75mm above the nozzle and it has worked fine ever since.
