Finish of the Prusa Printer Parts

I was wondering how Prusa got the textured finish on the parts that come with the printers. It seems like a professional finish on the sides that were on a printbed. I like that and want to try to do i myself. Any tips or clues are appreciated...thanks

Re: Finish of the Prusa Printer Parts

There are already a couple of threads about this on here.

Unfortunately, the only way to replicate the finish is to use an identical bed surface; we don't know what it is as yet, but we do know it has been in testing on the print farm for a few months.

Could it be that they use a "Kydex" sheet? It looks suspiciously like the same finish, and Kydex is heat and chemical resistant...

I'm also looking forward on infos regarding the new textured sheet...

I'm also looking forward to them releasing information about the textured heatbed since the finish on the parts looks really great.

If you watch the most recent video with Josef, from 39 to 45 seconds in the video you can see one of the printers on the farm printing the LCD cover with the new textured platform: .

It does look like a Kydex sheet but I'll probably wait for the official Prusa release before experimenting since so far my MK2s is printing flawlessly.
