Ratteling noise beginning after some hours of printing

Video: Printer in stealth mode -> PrusaRattleNoise

after some hours printing. The X-axis begin to make some noise. After applying lubricant I noticed, that there is abrasive (dark). Worn out rods?

How to silent the printer?

Thx - Carsten

RE: Ratteling noise beginning after some hours of printing

The bearings shipped with a Prusa printer are not lubricated (manual is not being honest).  Packing the bearings with grease before installation is recommended by anyone who has owned a MK3 printer a while. Bearing failures are common and the black residue is the grease seal being worn away due to lack of lubrication, and once the seals go, the metal ball bearings inside quickly follow.

Add oil to the roods and work the X and Y axes back and forth to get oil inside to the bearings before they fail. This will help short term, but you really need to disassemble the printer and pack grease into all of the bearings.
