That looks quite ok, happy printing. When I started 3D printing I hated calibration of z. It was always like fear eats up soul - I permanently had fears of destroying PEI sheet or something else.

Yeah but I just tried to print something off and the left edge peeled up. That's not good. Pics to come
So you have to clean up your sheet. Only IPA will not be enough. Give it a clean under hot water together with some dish washing soap. Dry it and after that again cleaning with IPA. When there is still warping then ...
Well let's start with the procedure described at the top.

This is a brand new sheet that I have cleaned with soap and water as well as IPA. Please see attached.
Did another print, cleaned surface with 91% IPA before. Same issue
Oh, this is an MK2.5 kit from an MK2 kit.
OK, tried a brand new spool, I'm getting adhesion, and a few good prints but I'm also getting blobbing and some residue on the first layer, like extra material but only on the first thing I print. I thought that strip at the beginning would clean that, but I also seem to get oozing when the nozzle heats up. What do I need to do to fix this?
Anybody?
