Z-calibration after Newest FW upgrade

Hi all,

I have two mk2S printers. I recently upgraded to 3.2.3. Initially upon install everything worked just fine. Then, after power cycling the printers, my z-calibration no longer works.

Specifically, I print, set the z-calibration (let's say it's -.400, for example) and then the next time I print, I need to do that same calibration again, but when I drop into "live adjust z" it reports -.400 even though it clearly isn't calibrated. So I adjust it to -.800 (adding the same z-calibration value) and it prints perfectly.  Every time I print I have to do the same process.

I will likely go back to a previous fw version, but before I do that, I'm wondering if anyone has experienced this at all, if there is a known bug or something I'm doing.

Thank you in advance.

RE: Z-calibration after Newest FW upgrade

Hi i'm late to the party here however i had the same issue and i had google searched.

i'm not sure if you resolved your issue and i see nobody ever responded to this.

maybe this will help another prusa owner in the future.

So there is a nasty bug in the firmware that has been around forever and i had to remind myself of it.

the machine will pretty much ignore Live-Z information until you run a first layer calibration test with PLA.

the machine will take Live Z information but treats it wrong and corrupted. so you find yourself setting live z to crazy places like -2.5mm

then when you power cycle it ignores your perfect Z and you once again have to set crazy live z numbers.

and it will ignore it again when you start the next print.

you must run the first layer calibration through the menu. once you do this the machine will use Live-z setting correctly and allow you to adjust it without it going nuts.

so remember to do the the first layer calibration everytime you reset the XYZ calibration then you can run your own live Z calibration from the USB or SD card and have proper live Z usage
